Calf 580

In order for milk to end up in our coffee and cheese on our bread, a cow has to have a calf every year. Male offspring are useless for milk production. So where to put them?

We equipped calf 580 with a GPS tracker – and followed it. Calf 580 was on the road across germany. Approximately 40 kilometers from the dutch border the trip ended.

It was on the road for 19 hours and 900 kilometers. Eight hours of transportation time would have been permitted.
