Calf 580
In order for milk to end up in our coffee and cheese on our bread, a cow has a calf every year. Male offspring are useless for milk production. So where to put them? We equipped calf 580 with a GPS tracker – and followed it. Calf 580 was on the road across germany. Approximately 40 kilometers from the dutch border the trip ended. It was on the road for 19 hours and 900 kilometers. Eight hours of transport time would have been permitted.
My god why did you leave me

Black Lives Matter
Demonstration in Hamburg, Germany June 2020. The pictures were supposed to document that day from an outside view. But as the demonstration progressed, the focus shifted towards the emotions of the individuals. Me as the photographer got really emotional that day. Looking back, it was my way of approaching the subject. How much does a person have to be involved in the topic in order to try creating empathy for it? Looking back, I have been thinking a lot about that day. In the end it is about taking action and to point out how big of a problem racism still is.
