Körtingsdorfer Weg
Körtingsdorfer Weg is an example of how urban planning can have a direct influence on the living atmosphere of the residents. Over the years, a world of its own has developed here which is noticeably different from the surrounding cityscape.
In 1890, several brick houses and a separate school for the workers were built in the immediate vicinity of the former machine factory. Today, publicly subsidised social housing is located here.
People’s daily lives often take place within a small living radius and the housing condition complexes creates a dreary atmosphere. This work focuces on one family living in Körtingsdorfer Weg.
Black Lives Matter
Demonstration in Hamburg, Germany June 2020. The pictures were supposed to document the moment from an outside view. But as the demonstration progressed, the focus shifted towards the emotions of the individuals. Me as the photographer got really emotional on that day. Looking back, it was my way of approaching the subject I would say. How much does a person have to be involved in the topic to be able to create empathy? I had to think about this project quiet a lot and thought some questions through. In the end it is about the pictures and to point out how big of a problem racism still is.
My god why did you leave me
This old forsaken property out of town seems to belong to nobody. You can get the feeling that the people used to life here suddenly left and never looked back. This work is about wondering around unknown places. Without any information the viewer is left with his imagination only.
